Pierre Brunet joined SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL as a volunteer in 1994, after having pursued a career as an independent journalist. He went on several field missions as a volunteer: first in genocide-afflicted Rwanda, then as project coordinator and later head of mission in Bosnia. He then joined the communications and fundraising department at SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL’s head office, which he headed for several years. In 2003, he carried out a communications mission in Afghanistan.
In 2011, after 16 years of service, Pierre left his position at SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL to take up a full-time writing career. He has authored 5 novels and his latest book, “Le Triangle de l’incertitude” (“The Triangle of Uncertainty”), was published in September 2017.
Pierre has maintained his commitment to SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL as a Board member, using his experience to support the organisation’s humanitarian activities. He shares the values embodied by the charity, which for him mean “refusing to accept the suffering of others and doing all we can to provide an effective response”.
Pierre has been vice-president of SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL and a member of the Steering Committee since 2015. At the end of 2015 and in 2016, as part of his role as a Board member, he visited SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL’s missions to assist migrants in Calais, Greece and Macedonia.
