Guillaume Sauval

Guillaume Sauval has been a member of the Board of Directors since September 2021. He is the International Director of Partnerships for the social enterprise Viamo, which provides mobile access to information and social services for communities in humanitarian and development contexts. He was previously director of the company in Madagascar until 2020 and now lives in New York.

After a master’s degree in management of humanitarian and development interventions obtained at the University of Aix-Marseille, he joined SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL as a desk intern. From 2004 to 2005, he was head of office in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), then emergency programme coordinator in 2006, still in the DRC, and finally programme advisor in 2007 in Paris. In DRC, Guillaume was one of the founding pillars of the Rapid Response Mechanism – RRM – in its various forms.

Guillaume Sauval then worked for UNICEF, first as an Emergency Programme Specialist from 2007 to 2010 in DRC, then as a Field Coordinator in Haiti from 2010 to 2011 and as a Programme Specialist from 2011 to 2015 at UNICEF Headquarters in New York (USA). From 2015 to 2019, he served as Director of Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) in Cambodia/Thailand, and then in Madagascar for several months in 2020. He is a member of the Professional Humanitarian Assistance and Protection Association (PHAP).
