With a Master’s degree in entrepreneurship and a DEA in media and multimedia, he began his career as a venture capital analyst, helping start-ups raise funds, before creating a media company and then joining a record company. In 2002, Alexandre Giraud discovered humanitarian work and decided to spend two years in Haiti managing a rural development project. “I discovered an environment that allowed me to combine values, encounters and discoveries with professional commitment and positive social impact.
Until 2010, he held various positions in the field before joining Première Urgence’s head office as head of the Middle East desk, then as head of missions and finally director of operations.
After being appointed Director of Operations in 2015, Alexandre became Director General of SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL in October 2017 until September 2020. He is currently Director of Patronage at the Fondation de France.
“I was seduced by the commitment and professionalism of its teams, as well as by the organisation’s vision in the face of the current challenges in the humanitarian world: deteriorating security contexts, access to populations becoming more complicated, a renewed fight for the respect of humanitarian principles, the development of partnerships to optimise the impact of humanitarian aid… So many fundamental questions to which SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL responds day after day in the field, but also at headquarters and within its bodies.”
