“I had the privilege of getting to know SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL through Raoul de Torcy, a SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL officer based in Pakistan. Following this happy meeting, thanks to Raoul I was able to join the Kabul mission in 1994 to repair the water distribution systems in certain areas of the city, the treatment of latrines, and the manufacture and distribution of individual heating systems.

When I returned in 1995, I joined the board of SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL even then, but unfortunately I had to resign 6 months later because I was going abroad for the Accor group and this lasted 25 years! I had an international career with Accor and Edenred and became a specialist in digital payments (cards, mobile, web…). In Turkey, I was confronted with the situation of Syrian refugees because we had developed food card programmes for foreign NGOs that looked after refugees living outside the camps.

I returned to France at the end of 2020 and I am happy to be able to join the board of SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL. I have noted with great interest the activities in some countries I remain close to (Afghanistan, Haiti) but am discovering new ones where the needs are just as great. I am very happy to see that SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL is involved in projects in France too.

My life motto is the well-known words of Nelson Mandela: “In life I progress or I learn”, so I have learned a lot and it is also high time for me to give!”
