[El Fasher, Sudan, October 23, 2025] On Sunday, October 19, 2025, in El Fasher, North Darfur State, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a drone strike targeted buildings, located in the vicinity of SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL’s office.
One of the rockets fired fell on SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL’s office, resulting in its complete destruction. Fortunately, no staff members were directly harmed, but the material damage is extensive. This attack constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law, which ensures the protection of humanitarian personnel, facilities, and operations during armed conflict.
Justine Muzik Piquemal, Regional Director at SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL, stated:
“We strongly condemn this unacceptable attack on civilians and humanitarian personnel. Our teams work tirelessly to deliver life-saving assistance to the most vulnerable populations in Darfur. Humanitarian actors must never be targeted.”
The organization is calling on all parties to the conflict to uphold international humanitarian law, ensure the safety of humanitarian workers, and allow safe and unhindered access to aid for affected populations.
This incident highlights the urgent need to strengthen the protection of civilians and humanitarian actors in Sudan, where the security and humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate.
