Since 2010, the Pays Voironnais municipal community has supported various water access projects organized by SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL in countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo and Pakistan, as well as our emergency responses in places like Haiti and Nepal.
Le Pays Voironnais has supported SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL in the DRC since 2011. Our NGO has rehabilitated and extended a water distribution network in the town of Kalemie, on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, providing over 200,000 people with access to drinking water. This project will also help to fight cholera, which is widespread in the region.
This municipal community also backed a project in Pakistan in 2013, focusing on the Sindh region. This region is regularly hit by devastating floods, which is why our NGO has implemented both programs to improve people’s resilience when faced with natural disasters, and schemes delivering emergency access to water, sanitation and hygiene for those affected.
Lastly, Le Pays Voironnais supported SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL’s emergency efforts in Haiti in 2010 and Nepal in 2015. Their loyalty to us is extremely valuable for these types of intervention, with grants enabling us to respond extremely quickly when it comes to implementing emergency aid.
