The Conseil Départemental de Seine-Saint-Denis (Seine-St-Denis departmental council) has supported SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL’s emergency efforts on a regular basis since 2011.
Following typhoon Haiyan in 2013 that devastated parts of the Philippines, the Conseil Départemental helped to fund the emergency response delivered by SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL. This response consisted of several different components: a water, sanitation and hygiene project, designed to provide affected communities with drinking water as well as access to sanitation facilities and proper hygiene, along with a community work scheme involving the reconstruction and rehabilitation of destroyed buildings and housing.
In addition, following an initial grant in 2011 designed to assist communities who had been victims of the historic drought in the Horn of Africa, the Conseil Départemental then decided to direct its support towards casualties of the Sahel crisis by funding SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL in 2012.
