Solidarités International, which has been working in Bangladesh
since 2007, is currently implementing drinking water access and sanitation
programmes in partnership with the 'Centre de Crise' (French Ministry of Foreign
and European Affairs) and the European Commission (ECHO). We are present in
the south-west, where we are carrying out a multi-sector programme (reconstruction,
access to water and sanitation) for populations affected by Cyclone Aila,
and also in Cox Bazaar district with a drinking water access and sanitation
programme. Solidarités International has organised a photo exhibition at the
Alliance Française in Dhaka, to show its action to assist victims of Cyclone
Aila. This exhibition hightlights the acute needs of affected populations,
and the challenges which remain, over a year after the cyclone.
