SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL: Central African Republic - stories
Fleeing the violence in the C.A.R: Hissein Awa Issakh and their three children left everything behind...
While visiting a relative in a neighboring village, the Abdoulaye-Hissein family- Awa Issakh and their three children, Ahmed, Mariam and Saleh - managed to escape the acts of violence committed by the Central African armed forces in Akrousoulbak, their home village in C.A.R.
For their safety, Hissein and his family fled to neighboring Chad, with no food or financial resources. They now live in a field on the outskirts of the village of Massembagne.
Hissein had years of experience as a farmer, and owned several hectares of land where he had cultivated millet, sesame and beans. With his skills, he was able to meet the needs of his family. Although he is now dependent on distributions from the WFP (World Food Program), he hopes that the village chief of Massembagene will grant him a plot of 3 hectares of land. This would allow him to improve conditions for his family.
But the Abdoulaye family also urgently needs access to drinking water and sanitation; all three children recently suffered from bloody diarrhea after drinking water from a river near the village.
By helping Hissein and his family to have access to land to cultivate and clean water, you can help them live a decent life, and perhaps someday they can return to the CAR.
I would like to support SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL’ activities to assist Central African refugees
