Emergency humanitarian
aid has a cost: we need donations
to be able to act rapidly and bring aid to the survivors
of the Tsunami in Sri Lanka and in Sumatra
The following supplies departed by air for Sri Lanka on
Friday, January 7 at 9am:
- 72,000 rations of biscuits (500 kcal per sachet).
- 2 surface pumps
- 2 underwater pumps
- 2 bladders (flexible water tanks of 20 and 30 m3) + water
distribution platforms
– 5,000 jerry cans
- 70 rolls of plastic sheets
- Two 4x4 vehicles
i.e. 20 tons of cargo for the emergency needs identified by
our team in the field.
Another similar cargo is set to depart next week.
As a guideline, we have listed below the prices of some of
the humanitarian supplies, which are essential for providing
efficient aid in the zones hit by the Tsunami in Sri Lanka
and Sumatra:
- 72,000 rations of biscuits (500 kcal par sachet):

- Underwater pumps: 2,188 Euros
- Surface pumps: 1,790 Euros
- 2 Bladders (flexible water tanks: 1,518 Euros and 1,156
Euros
– 5,000 jerry cans: 9,000 Euros
- A 4X4 vehicle = 25,000 Euros
We rapidly need to dispatch the following
supplies (for which we need donations):
- 4 water purification stations, each with a capacity of
1O,OOO people per day (one station costs approximately 125,000
Euros).
- 6 underwater pumps with 6 generators.
- 6 motorised surface pumps.
- 12 flexible tanks (bladders), each containing between 1O
and 2O m3.
– the water distribution platforms designed for the
bladders, in addition to chlorine.
- 4 Del Agua water analysis kits.
